AC&R Technician Job Description:
Aerotek is looking to hire AC&R Technicians with 3 to 5 years of experience. The pay is in the upper 20s low 30s. This contract-to-hire role offers an experienced AC&R Technician the opportunity to install, repair, and maintain air conditioning, refrigeration, and related laundry and galley equipment in a shipyard environment within the Hampton Roads area. You will use your HVAC and refrigeration expertise to ensure critical equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain air conditioning and refrigeration systems used in laundry and galley operations within shipyards. Perform diagnostic troubleshooting on HVAC and refrigeration equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues. Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment schematics to complete installations and repairs accurately. Use electrician mate skills to assist with electrical connections, wiring, and component replacement associated with HVAC and refrigeration systems. Conduct routine preventive maintenance on refrigeration, air conditioning, and related equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Inspect equipment and systems to verify proper operation, identify potential problems, and recommend corrective actions. Document work performed, including parts used, test results, and system status, in a clear and organized manner. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
