Job Description

HVAC Instructor (aka Environmental Systems and Refrigeration Technology Instructor) Wenatchee Valley College Wenatchee Valley College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach in the Environmental Systems and Refrigeration Technology program. This program prepares students for careers in refrigeration, HVAC, and related systems used in commercial, residential, and industrial settings. We are looking for an enthusiastic instructor with professional expertise who can provide high-quality instruction and hands-on learning opportunities to students pursuing technical careers in this growing field. We are looking for some that can teach during business hours 8-5pm. Examples of Duties and Responsibilities Prepare or adapt course content including syllabi, presentations, labs, and lessons in accordance with program and college standards. Provide instruction that balances theory with applied, hands-on learning. Evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback, and assign grades in accordance with college policies. Maintain accurate class and other records as required by the college. Foster a supportive learning environment that emphasizes professionalism, safety, and inclusivity. Work collaboratively with program faculty, advisory committees, and industry partners to ensure curriculum remains relevant and up to date. Maintain office hours and provide student support outside of class as needed. Minimum Qualifications At least five years of professional experience in refrigeration, HVAC, or environmental systems. Demonstrated technical expertise in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or system design. Preferred Qualifications Teaching or training experience (college, apprenticeship, or industry setting). Current industry-recognized certifications (EPA Section 608, HVAC Excellence, NATE, or equivalent). Experience with instructional technology and/or Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas). Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusiveness in technical education.
