Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive, dependable and detail-oriented Material Expediter to join our team. In this role, you will help ensure the smooth flow of materials, equipment, tools, and parts between departments to support production schedules and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, and able to thrive in an industrial environment. This position may also involve assisting shop personnel with equipment assembly, maintenance, and repairs as needed. Qualifications Minimum of 4 years experience High School graduate or equivalent Needs to be able to lift up to 100 pounds, average of 50 pounds On-site training provided Base credentials provided Responsibilities Performs after hours, weekends emergency response services as required. Follows all GPC safety programs and OSHA requirements. Work requires climbing vertical and inclined ladders and brief periods of strained positions, such as kneeling, stooping, and maneuvering in close quarters. Coordinates and expedites flow of equipment, material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisor priorities. May compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, compile reports and production schedules. Uses computerized system and other assigned programs, tools or records to enter and extract data. Will operate vehicles such as hand trucks, forklifts or industrial trucks to move tools, materials and equipment from one department to another. Occasionally mat operate small boats and other marine equipment using general seamanship and related marine skills. Reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and performs research to locate supplies between storage and production areas to meet production schedules. Assist shop personnel in the assembly, maintenance and repair of ESSM equipment.
