Journeyman Mechanic 2

Journeyman Mechanic Level 2 A Journeyman Mechanic (2) is competent in their mechanical knowledge of two axle and three axle tractors. This includes the various types of engines used in the tractors, the air system, rear end transmissions, suspension, steering, and electrical systems etc.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Will be responsible for maintenance and repair activities on trucks and trailers.
• Maintenance will include: engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical, computer and structural repairs including welding..
• Technicians will demonstrate safe and proper application of hand, pneumatic and electric tools.
• Receive and review daily inspections of all equipment and resolve issues or schedule repairs.
• Inspect equipment and detect excessive wear; complete programing for the replacement of worn our parts in addition to completing preventative maintenance for equipment.
• Effectively interact with drivers and management for necessary maintenance and coordinate repairs with shop manager.
• Follow all safety rules and requirements.

Qualifications:

• Diesel engines (common rail systems electronics injectors/Catalytic converter)
• Electric diagnosis and trouble-shooting, reading diagrams.
• Hydraulic diagnosis and trouble shooting.
• Experienced with troubleshooting and proficient maintenance repair of light and heavy construction equipment.
• Able to perform factory recommended preventative maintenance & inspection.
• Able to ensure guards and safety devices are functioning properly.
• Ability to enhance service department and organizations reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements:

• Must maintain good attendance and punctuality.
• Must be accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions.
