Job Description

Bakery/Food Industrial Mechanic Sugar Bowl Bakery has an opening for an experienced food industrial mechanic, specializing in bakery equipment. Must have have experience with food production equipment repair at a food processing/manufacturing facility.
Summary:
Responsible for the electrical and mechanical uptime of production equipment for the industrial bakery facility in Hayward, CA. Current need is for someone with background that includes PLC knowledge and experience, electrical, mechanical, welding/fabrication, some basic plumbing experience. Responsibility or Job/Duty Description Inspect, operate, and evaluate machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Perform maintenance activities within the manufacturing plant with a strategic focus on the design, modification, and maintenance of equipment and machinery in accordance with drawings, sketches, operation manuals, or manufacturer's specifications. Document all planned and unplanned activities in maintenance CMMS (Fiix) or specified paperwork. Responsible for equipment uptime Troubleshoot equipment downtime issues on production and packaging lines. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, such as inspecting motors, bearings, vacuums, conveyor belts, fluid levels and replacing filters. Complete work orders for off-schedule maintenance projects and needed repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner. Plan, organize and perform fabrications as directed. Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory. Understand the safety features of the machine and tooling to ensure they are operating without compromise to safety systems. Other important or Critical Day to Day Responsibilities Prioritize workload in a systematic fashion. Monitor, maintain, repair, or install 1 and 3 phase electrical systems as required to keep facility and production process systems in superior operational order. Identify any required parts needed and notify supervisor. Document work for accountability and audit conformance. Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and openly exchange information. Extremely diligent in timely follow up of assigned tasks. Communication with peers, customers and management is key to success. Always organized, working in a clean environment. Other duties as assigned. Staff/Non-Staff Interaction External - Mechanical, Electrical, and other Contractors Qualifications & Skills Dependability and work ethic to show up to work on time each day. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders and team members. Must have determination to not just fix the breakdown, glitch, or malfunction but maintain focus to determine the root cause. Electrical, Electronic & Circuit Board a plus. Demonstrated strong electrical orientation and mechanical aptitude. Experience with servo drives and robotics. Competencies with PLC, program level diagnostics, analog and digital field devices, Allen-Bradley a plus Working knowledge of service utilities maintenance, 480/240V three phase, 110V single phase, power distribution. HVAC and refrigeration a plus Ability to read electrical schematics. Food Manufacturing experience Minimum Language Requirements Must be able to speak and write English proficiently, additional language skills a plus. Minimum Admin Skills E-mail proficiency, math and writing skills. Minimum Physical Requirements Must be able to work on and around equipment, occasionally lift to 75 pounds, must be able to work entire shift on feet.
