Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Bilingual Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (English/Spanish) to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of food production and packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supporting equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machines, motors, conveyors, packaging systems, and other mechanical and electrical components. The ideal candidate has strong industrial maintenance experience, excellent mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely while following food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. Responsibilities
  • Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to specifications and operational requirements.
  • Inspect machines, engines, and transmissions, and perform diagnostic tests to identify functionality issues.
  • Perform mechanical repairs and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability, improve uptime, and minimize production downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues on food processing and packaging equipment and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery, packaging equipment, conveyors, and related production systems.
  • Clean, inspect, and lubricate machinery components as part of routine maintenance.
  • Replenish fluids and replace worn or damaged components in engines and machinery as needed.
  • Provide guidance on proper equipment maintenance and preventive measures to support operational efficiency.
  • Perform additional industrial maintenance duties as assigned, including hydraulic system repair, mechanical troubleshooting, and equipment support for production operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and repair documentation for equipment issues, inspections, and completed work. Requirements
  • Proven experience as an industrial maintenance mechanic, preferably in food manufacturing, food processing, or production environment, with a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial machinery, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers.
  • Ability to follow established maintenance procedures and read work orders, instructions, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety, lockout/tagout practices, food safety, and sanitation guidelines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish to support cross-functional communication in a production setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform maintenance work in an industrial environment.
  • High school diploma preferred; vocational training, technical certification, or completion of an apprenticeship is a strong plus.
  • Valid technical certification, such as ASE or equivalent, is preferred. Technical Knowledge and Equipment Experience Experience with the following equipment and systems is preferred:
  • Production and packaging equipment such as Vemag machines, grinders, vacuum packaging equipment, thermoforming packaging machines, ovens, freezers, conveyors, and related food processing equipment.
  • Utility and mechanical systems such as steam systems, 24V/120V/240V electrical systems, VFDs, motors, gearboxes, inverters, and related industrial maintenance systems.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
