Job Description
We are seeking an experienced An Electro‑Mechanical Assembly Technician to support complex builds within our Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) operation. This role is ideal for a technician who excels in high‑precision assembly , thrives in high‑mix/low‑volume production , and can serve as a technical resource for junior assemblers and engineering teams. You will work on a wide range of customer products—from prototypes to full‑scale production—requiring exceptional craftsmanship, documentation accuracy, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced electro‑mechanical assembly of complex systems, subassemblies, and wiring harnesses for multiple customer programs Interpret detailed schematics, PCB drawings, mechanical blueprints, BOMs, and customer‑specific work instructions Execute high‑precision soldering, crimping, routing, and termination to IPC‑A‑610/620 Class 2 and Class 3 standards Conduct functional testing, calibration, and verification using multimeters, oscilloscopes, test fixtures, and diagnostic tools Lead prototype builds , providing feedback to engineering on manufacturability, design improvements, and process optimization Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues , documenting root cause and corrective actions Mentor and train junior technicians on assembly techniques, quality standards, and best practices Support NPI (New Product Introduction) activities, including documentation review, fixture validation, and process development Maintain accurate production records, traveler documentation, test logs, and quality reports Ensure compliance with ESD, safety, and quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, or customer‑specific requirements) Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in electro‑mechanical assembly within an EMS, contract manufacturing, aerospace, medical device, or high‑reliability environment Strong ability to read and interpret complex electrical and mechanical documentation Advanced proficiency with soldering, crimping, wiring, mechanical assembly, and use of precision measurement tools Must have strong knowledge of fastener types and sizes Solid understanding of electronics fundamentals , including signal flow, grounding, polarity, and continuity Experience with NPI builds , prototype environments, or customer‑driven engineering changes Strong troubleshooting skills across both electrical and mechanical domains Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and support multiple customer projects simultaneously Preferred Qualifications IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑A‑620, or J‑STD‑001 certification (Class 3 preferred) Experience in high‑mix/low‑volume EMS production Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Epicor) Experience with box‑build assembly , cable harness fabrication, or test fixture setup Background in
AS9100, ISO
