GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for leading and supervising a team of employees within a production environment, ensuring effective prioritization of daily activities in alignment with overall productional plans and organizational objectives. Accountable for maintaining workflow efficiency and ensuring achievement of weekly and monthly targets. Additionally, the Mechanical Lead ensures team members are properly trained and cross-trained to support all required mechanical operations, including painting, mechanical assembly, and sealing processes. This role works closely with other production and cross-functional teams to coordinate resources, identify and resolve production challenges, to maintain a smooth operational flow.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Ensure assigned production areas are maintained in accordance with manufacturing standards and quality requirements. Provide training, coaching, and cross-training to ensure capability and consistency across mechanical operations. Oversee and ensure completion of all required daily and recurring production logs, including paint logs, paint coupons, TIG weld logs, equipment maintenance records, material expiration tracking, and team training documentation. Support mechanical production processes, including primer, paint, and related surface preparation as required. Lead by example in the execution of production tasks while developing team capability to independently support required functions. Prioritize and assign daily work activities to align with production schedules, resource availability, and overall operational objectives. Monitor workflow progress and adjust team priorities as needed to meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly production targets. Ensure adherence to safety procedure, quality standards, and process compliance across all mechanical production activities. Collaborate with production lead counterparts to coordinate workflow, identify and resolve production challenges, and support overall production efficiency. Follow established procedures, work instructions, and quality standards to ensure product integrity. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company and manufacturing standards. Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Experience with the priming and painting of mechanical assemblies, including surface preparation and finish application processes. Strong understanding of production record maintenance with an audit-ready level of detail and accuracy. Ability to set, organize, and manage daily and weekly priorities to ensure production goals and delivery schedules are consistently achieved. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience in electronics finishing or mechanical production environment is preferred. Familiarity with sealing processes and leak check methods, including gross and fine leak. Experience supporting a variety of production and finishing tasks, including marking, labeling, paint strip/repair, and coordinating outside services such as chemical film and laser welding. TIG welding experience is preferred, the ability to support TIG welding processes on-site is a plus. Strong organization skills with the ability to coordinate workflow and support cross-functional production needs. Ability to lead, train, and support team members while maintaining focus on quality, safety, and production efficiency. Ability to follow detailed instructions and operating procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product integrity and quality standards. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Have a willingness and ability to learn new equipment, processes, and technologies. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and support overtime as required. Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements. Ability to communicate and interact effectively with peers and supervisors, while maintaining a respectful and professional demeanor. Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree in a related field is preferred. 3 -5 years experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, finishing, or a production environment. Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, painting/finishing processes, sealing operations and related production activities. Experience in TIG welding, leak testing (gross and fine leak), and special processes are a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in a manufacturing and production environment that may include exposure to mechanical assembly areas, finishing and paint/primer processes. Occasional exposure to chemicals used in painting, sealing, or finishing processes may occur in a controlled environment. Ability to occasionally lift, move, or assist in the positioning equipment up to 50lbs. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones, use tools/equipment).
