Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Balance of Plant Engineer to join a manufacturing and renewable energy company specializing in hydrogen fuel cell technology. This individual will be responsible for the mechanical Balance of Plant components required to run the facility, including pumps, blowers, and sensors, owning the process from requirements definition through component selection, vendor sourcing, or custom builds. Day to day, the engineer will work closely with suppliers, perform root cause analysis, support conceptual design and new product development, and assist with retrofitting power plants. The role is hands-on and includes quality inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and hardware validation, as well as integrating mechanical components into the overall system and facility design. - BS degree with 2-5+ years of experience.
- MS degree with 0-2+ years of experience.
- Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or another related STEM discipline.
- Experience with electro-mechanical hardware such as pumps, valves and instrumentation.
- Clear and concise oral and written communications.
- Ability and experience clearly understanding and executing to meet customer requirements.
- Ability (experience preferred) to work with a diverse group of technical and business focused individuals, internal groups and the external supply base, occasionally on a global basis.
- Experience using AI tools to aid activities such as computational analyses and searching for design solutions.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing/factory environment preferred.
- Heat exchanger experience.
