Electromechanical Maintenance Technician Shift:
2nd and 3rd Job Description The Maintenance Technician supports daily production by performing planned maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and responding quickly to maintenance requests on the production floor. This role focuses on mechanical systems with basic electrical work, ensuring conveyors and related equipment operate safely, reliably, and efficiently in an industrial environment. Responsibilities Attend daily shift meetings each morning to review the production schedule and maintenance plan for the day. Receive, prioritize, and complete a list of preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, typically completing 3-4 PMs per day. Respond promptly to maintenance calls from the production team to minimize downtime and keep lines running smoothly. Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on conveyors, including work on bearings, shafts, and sprockets. Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems used in production equipment. Use a multimeter to perform basic electrical troubleshooting on equipment and systems. Wire and support the operation of 480V motors in accordance with safety and electrical standards. Work with and maintain systems that use PLCs and VFDs, understanding their function and role in controlling equipment. Perform basic welding tasks as needed for equipment repair or modification. Support hydraulic system maintenance and troubleshooting as required. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all applicable safety and quality procedures, especially in a food and beverage setting. Communicate clearly with production and maintenance team members about equipment status, repair needs, and completed work. Document maintenance work performed and report any recurring issues or improvement opportunities. Work rotating shifts, including some weekend shifts, and adapt to future changes to a 12-hour, 4-on/3-off schedule. Essential Skills Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working on industrial equipment. Proven experience performing maintenance on conveyor systems, including bearings, shafts, and sprockets. Ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting using a multimeter. Capability to wire and work safely with 480V motors. Understanding of how PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) work and what they do in controlling equipment. Experience working with pneumatics in an industrial environment. Ability to perform welding for maintenance and repair tasks. Familiarity with hydraulics and their application in industrial equipment. Understanding and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial production environment. Strong communication skills to coordinate with production and maintenance teams. Ability to work rotating shifts, including some weekend days. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in food manufacturing or food and beverage production is a plus. Bilingual communication skills are desirable. Comfort working with industrial control systems involving PLCs and VFDs. Previous experience in a family-oriented or flexible work culture is beneficial. Work Environment This position is based in an industrial production facility, likely within the food and beverage sector, where adherence to GMP standards is essential. Work is hands-on around conveyors, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and other industrial equipment. The current schedule includes a 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, with a rotating pattern where you will work a Saturday or Sunday approximately three times per month. The operation plans to transition to 12-hour shifts with a 4-on/3-off schedule in the future, while remaining off on Sundays. The environment is typical of an industrial plant, requiring safe work practices and appropriate attire suitable for a manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $34.00/hr.
