Job Description

Company Overview AWT World Trade Inc is a manufacturing company specializing in industrial screen-printing equipment and supplies. We are known for our commitment to quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. As we continue to grow, we are looking to add a Mechanical Assembler I to our production team. Job Summary This is a hands-on manufacturing position for someone who enjoys working with tools, assembling mechanical components, and being part of a production environment. You will work on the shop floor assembling mechanical parts and subassemblies that become part of our finished equipment. This role supports daily production needs while maintaining quality and safety standards. On-the-job training is provided Primary Responsibilities Assemble mechanical parts and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, and fixtures Follow work instructions, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures Perform basic inspections to ensure assemblies meet quality and safety standards Identify and report defective parts, assembly issues, or equipment problems Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Meet daily production goals while maintaining quality requirements Work collaboratively with team members, leads, and supervisors Comply with all company safety policies and procedures Preferred Qualifications Previous manufacturing or assembly experience (helpful but not required) Ability to read basic mechanical drawings or schematics Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers or tape measures Experience using hand tools and power tools Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions We are willing to train dependable candidates with a strong work ethic. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs with or without assistance Manual dexterity for handling small parts and tools Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks Work Environment Manufacturing and production floor environment Exposure to machinery, noise, and moving mechanical parts Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Work Schedule Full-time, 8-hour shift Overtime may be available based on production needs On-Site position Chicago, IL 60641 Training & Development On-the-job training provided Opportunity to grow skills within a manufacturing environment Benefits 401(k) Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Paid time off
