Job Description
Crane and Hoist Technician $25 - $35+/hr | Indianapolis, IN Responsibilities Perform routine and periodic inspections on overhead cranes, hoists, rigging, and related lifting equipment in accordance with company and regulatory standards. Identify wear, safety issues, and potential failures on mechanical, electrical, and structural components, and clearly recommend appropriate corrective actions. Conduct preventive maintenance to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime for customer operations. Install, assemble, and commission overhead cranes, hoists, trolleys, control systems, and auxiliary equipment at customer sites. Diagnose and repair mechanical components such as motors, brakes, gearboxes, bearings, and wire rope. Diagnose and repair electrical components and systems including electrical controls, contactors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and pendant or radio controls. Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues to determine root causes and implement effective solutions. Essential Skills 2-3 years of experience as an industrial service technician or in industrial maintenance. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including motors, brakes, gearboxes, bearings, and wire rope. Good understanding of electrical theory for power and controls, including the ability to work with controls, contactors, VFDs, and pendant or radio controls. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems. Why Work Here?
