The Power Plant Mechanic II is an experienced technician that performs power plant maintenance activities involving the identification, diagnosis, and repair of power plant mechanical equipment issues. Nature of plant mechanical work is complex and requires technical practices skills and knowledge in principles of precision maintenance. Key Responsibilities
  • Champions a corporate culture that emphasizes transparency, integrity, safety, environmental responsibility, employee development, diversity and inclusion, customer service, and operational excellence.
  • Diagnoses complex mechanical problems, recommends, directs and performs corrective action on mechanical equipment to maximize plant reliability, availability and performance.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, inspections, overhauls and upgrades on mechanical related equipment to avoid unscheduled downtime.
  • Uses the SAP system to provide, evaluate and maintain concise maintenance and equipment records to achieve an accurate historical account for future references.
  • Communicates and coordinates with plant operations to maintain efficiency and performance.
  • Provides oversight of appropriate contractors for routine and outage maintenance activities.
  • Communicates to their supervisor to provide updates on maintenance activities, and identify risks in delivery or resourcing needs. Qualifications Required Education, Skills & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with related vocational or technical training preferred
  • 3-5+ years of related experience
  • Step progression levels based on skill proficiency and scope of job.
  • Knowledge of leading practices for their area of expertise
  • Planning and project management skills
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
  • Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner
