Full Job Description Description:
Mechanical Technician supports Epic's day-to-day operations of our production lines by ensuring all mechanical systems run efficiently with minimal downtime.
Requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities (including but are not limited to): Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on production and packaging equipment. Adhere to SOP, SSOP, GMP, and HACCP guidelines. Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimize downtime. Support line changeovers and adjustments to meet production requirements. Inspect and maintain mechanical components such as: Bearings, chains, belts, gear systems, and pneumatic parts. Ensure smooth operation of conveyor systems and moving equipment. Conduct regular inspections and identify potential issues proactively. Maintain maintenance records and report recurring problems. Follow safety and hygiene standards in a food-grade production environment. Clean and organize the shop, including sweeping floors, disposing of waste, and keeping work areas free of hazards. Collaborate with electrical/automation/production team for efficient troubleshooting.
Requirements:
2-5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance (food & beverage preferred). Strong understanding of mechanical systems, moving equipment, and conveyors. Perform other general shop duties as requested, including preparing work areas for specific projects. Assist in managing and maintaining the inventory of necessary tools, equipment, and spare parts. Knowledge of pneumatics and basic hydraulics. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings. Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Willingness to work shifts if required.
Preferred:
Experience in beverage/canning/bottling/high-speed production or packaging environments. Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards. Experience with changeover and line optimization.
