Back Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer#2017032 Trenton, Michigan, United StatesApply X Facebook LinkedIn Email Copy Job Description The manufacturing/ reliability engineer is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining stable and capable production/business processes as they pertain to equipment, facilities and tooling functionality following the SIS (Stellantis Industrial System).Manufacturing) model. The manufacturing/reliability engineer is required tomaintain both machine/equipment capabilities and reliability as they relate to safety, throughput, quality, equipment integrity, and for monitoring/correcting related issues of assembly, machining and high pressure die casting.
Evaluate & approve changes in production processes in cooperation with product engineering and systems support where applicable.
Track, investigate and resolve issues associated with nonconforming parts through utilization of SIS tools.
Maintain and evaluate quality and throughput documentation through stratification and Pareto analysis.
Perform and/or coordinate internal quality investigations on production operations (e.g. Process or product/dock audits).Manage corrective action processes derived from product and process audits, from internal quality investigations, or customer complaints; Supervise/coordinate reject and teardown procedures.
Work closely with Supplier Quality Engineers, Auditors, Design Engineers, Business Unit Leaders, Engineering Group Leaders, MaintenanceEmployees, Planners, Logistics, etc. in order to define corrective actions and investigate for continuous improvement efforts, utilizing Kaizens and other quality improvement aids.
Establish, maintain, and administer control plans, PFMEAs and process sheets.
Responsible for leading Kaizen initiatives per the SIS model.
Participate in all aspects of simultaneous engineering efforts for new projects.
Monitor and improve performance of production processes, tooling and facilities with respect to line balancing, cycle time, uptime, FTC, ergonomics, and quality including gauge R&Rs, calibrations, and repeatability checks.
Prepare and present regular reports to both internal and external stakeholders. Provide customer feedback on part/product related issues.
Oversee and specify plant facilities, tooling and machinery placement and structural requirements and layout.
Coordinate debug, startup and qualification of new program manufacturing machines. Oversee machine retools and rebuilds. Machine and process troubleshooting, tool development, tool life, and gage process.
Detail and facilitate plant facilities, tooling,equipment, drawingsandlayouts.
Work with and support all plant operations in Stellantis Industrial Systems (SIS) initiatives. Location(s) 2300 Van Horn Road, Trenton, Michigan 48183,
Strong computer skills must be proficient in MS-Office, Auto-CAD, CNC ProgrammingPossess strong problem-solving skills (SPC, DOE, Kaizen, and root cause analysis).Preferred candidate shall have 2 or more years' manufacturing experience in automotive assembly machining/die casting etc.
English language competency required with good written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledgeable in areas of Mistake Proofing and Problem-Solving Techniques. (MQP process, SPC, PFMEA, and FMEAC, Part Print Reading, GDT Tolerances)SIS Audit Experience a plus.

United States Requirements Basic Qualifications:
BSME or equivalent BS in a related technical discipline (e.g. mathematics, physics).
