If tracing a hydraulic schematic or chasing an intermittent electrical fault sounds like a great afternoon, you'll fit right in. In this shop role, you'll return used Tennant equipment to peak performance—end to end. About the work Own full teardown and rebuild cycles on complex equipment, applying strong independent judgment. Diagnose mechanical issues, electrical faults, and hydraulic problems with accuracy. Service battery systems and tune air‑ and water‑cooled combustion engines as well as diesel/gas/LP power units for optimal drivability. Run in‑process quality checks and communicate results to keep jobs on time and on target. Flag, document, and act on safety concerns—then adjust builds to deliver a quality product. Support every phase of the reconditioning process, from assessment to final sign‑off. Care for company tools and equipment, using them safely and reporting maintenance needs. Keep the department clean, safe, and organized through disciplined housekeeping and 5S. Operate across multiple sub‑assembly operations and faster‑cycle main‑line stations. Show up on time, present a professional image, and maintain reliable transportation. What you already know High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. At least 3 years of hands‑on repair experience with mobile equipment. How to work independently with minimal oversight. Proper, safe use of hand/power tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic devices. Core principles of mechanical and electrical assembly; manufacturing background preferred. How to drive continuous improvement in your work. Physical and environmental details Lift up to 40 lbs regularly; sometimes up to 90 lbs (with help over 60 lbs). Switch among positions during the shift; expect sitting, standing, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Daily bending, stooping, kneeling, or squatting—possibly ~30% of your day. Medically able to perform all tasks safely. Work near moving mechanical parts; occasional heat and non‑toxic fumes; moderate noise. Occasional exposure to oil, grease, gasoline, dust, metal particles, and sharp‑edged materials. Safety essentials Must be able to wear safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, and hearing protection.
