Assembly Mechanic Job Description Join our team as an Assembly Mechanic, where you will build and assemble mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of paving and construction equipment. You will work on custom equipment based on blueprint and schematic specifications, assembling frames, building axles, and installing motors, air conditioning, and electrical harnesses. You will utilize a variety of tools, including click wrenches, torque wrenches, ratchets, pneumatic pulse tools, and DC electric wrenches, while calibrating tools and fixtures as necessary. Responsibilities Build and assemble mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components of paving and construction equipment. Assemble frames, build axles, and install motors, air conditioning, and electrical harnesses. Utilize click wrench, torque wrench, ratchet, pneumatic pulse tool, pneumatic tool with stall bar, nutrunner, and DC electric wrench. Calibrate tools and fixtures for necessary jobs. Extensive use of pneumatic pulse equipment for proper torque. Utilize tools on hoses, port fittings, jam nuts, pipe threads, non-ferrous fittings, A/C fittings, special torque, and bulkhead fittings. Inspect all equipment to ensure conformity to shop standards. Work effectively in a team environment and interact with support personnel, including engineering and purchasing. Coordinate work to meet changing production schedules. Identify and relay information to correct discrepancies in assembly processes, B.O.M., parts shortages, and safety issues. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience in heavy equipment assembly or as a mechanic (auto, aviation, military preferred). Proficiency with blueprints, diagrams, and schematics. Ability to understand and assemble hydraulics and electrical components. Basic understanding of torque patterns. Technical understanding of torque, O-Rings, and metric system. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Strong teamwork skills; willingness to work with others in a cell. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certified trade school or degree in a related area is a plus. Recent completion of an automotive technology degree with no experience will be considered. Why Work Here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
