Lincoln Wastewater System is seeking a Utility Plant Mechanic I to join our dedicated team and help keep essential systems functioning safely and efficiently. What You'll Do Perform mechanical and physical maintenance at wastewater treatment facilities and remote pumping stations Install, repair, service, and troubleshoot conventional and specialized equipment Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to maintain operations Understand how equipment performance impacts treatment processes and system reliability Follow written work orders and supervisory direction to complete assignments accurately and on time Document labor, materials, and maintenance activities in the CMMS Coordinate equipment status and downtime with facility staff to minimize operational disruptions Respond to emergency and unscheduled maintenance needs to restore minimum service levels Follow all safety procedures, use proper PPE, and comply with City and Department policies Contribute positively as a reliable team member while maintaining professional standards and attendance Work Schedule Monday - Friday. 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from a senior high school or equivalent Experience as a mechanic, including experience in the repair and maintenance of specialized and standard mechanical and/or electrical equipment found in a utility plant A ny equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills may be considered. Necessary Special Requirements Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is necessary to the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.
