Job Description

Overview We are seeking a Mechanic-in-Training for assignment in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the preventative and corrective maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment plants, and related facility equipment, on an assigned shift. Hours are Monday
  • Friday, 6:00am
  • 2:30pm
  • This position has a pay rate of $21.03/hr
  • This position may have a rotational on-call schedule
  • Responsibilities
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electro-mechanical machinery and equipment
  • Replacement of bearings in motors, pumps or other equipment
  • Tightens and adjusts chains
  • Removes and installs new or existing equipment or machinery
  • Operates hoists, lifts and machinery
  • Chips and paints
  • Operates emergency power generation equipment
  • Plumbing and pipefitting tasks as required
  • Assists in keeping maintenance records
  • Maintains and operates computer maintenance management system as required
  • Performs other duties as required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid Drivers License
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools
