Job Description

Maintenance Mechanic Zwanenberg Food Group, Inc is looking for a versatile Maintenance Mechanic to assist in Maintaining, Troubleshooting, and doing Preventative Maintenance on various Food Manufacturing Equipment. In this position, the candidate should Monitor the Machinery on a regular basis to ensure Safety and Efficiency.
Responsibilities :
Troubleshoot Mechanical issues on all Production Equipment and take corrective action. Make necessary repairs and or adjustments to Maintain maximum Production. Understand and perform routine Repairs and Preventative Maintenance on the Facility, Production, Packaging and Material Handling Equipment. Advise the Maintenance Manager of all Maintenance related issues. Adhere to all Plant Rules, Safety Rules and Regulations that are required to perform the Duties of this Position within the Operation. Be on call, and able to respond to all Work-related assignments during working hours. Maintain a Team Environment working with other Plant Departments. Any other Duties that may be assigned by the Management Team.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
7 to 10 years' experience in the Food Processing Industry as a Maintenance Mechanic. Ability to interpret Machine Manuals, Drawings and Schematics when needed. Ability to use the necessary Tools and Test Instruments to perform the Job Duties of a Maintenance Mechanic; as well as Mig & Tig Welding, Stick Welding, and proficient use of a Torch is a Plus. Light Fabricating skills is a Plus. Knowledge of general & Preventative Maintenance along with working in a Production type Environment . Experience in Repair of all types of Gearboxes, Pumps and industry related Equipment. Possess good Troubleshooting and Communication Skills and a willingness to learn and to educate themselves thru training. Be able to maintain a professional working relationship with fellow team members in a Safe and Productive manner. Know, understand and perform the required USDA, SQF, OSHA and other Regulatory Agency requirements of the Operation.
Education :
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Trade School is a Plus)
Working Conditions:
Work may involve lifting of Materials and Product up to 70lbs. Must be able to work in a cold Environment of 40 to 45 degrees. Working in this Environment requires the use of Equipment but not limited to Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection and Work Boots.
