Refinery & Plant Valve Overhaul Mechanic Barracuda Staffing & Consulting Broken Arrow, OK Job Details $18 - $25 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation Customer communication In-person customer service High school diploma or GED Driver's License Desktop applications Full Job Description Your mission Safeguard uptime for refinery and industrial facilities by overhauling, maintaining, and certifying relief, control, and manual valves—both in the shop and out in the field during turnarounds and outages. Impact in your first 90 days Master the workflow: Learn the teardown-to-test process, documentation standards, and safety protocols.
Own jobs end-to-end:
Disassemble, inspect, clean, repair, reassemble, calibrate, and validate performance on test benches.
Field-ready:
Support on-site service calls, coordinate logistics, and communicate results to customers and plant personnel. Operations brief Interpret work orders, specifications, and technical documents to scope work precisely Operate auxiliary testing equipment and tooling with accuracy and care Coordinate job setup, scheduling, and follow-up to meet deadlines Drive company vehicles and use equipment responsibly Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule for emergency response Maintain rigorous safety practices and comply with all plant/company procedures Schedule, pay, and travel
Shift:
6am-4:30pm (some overtime may be required)
Pay:
$18.00-$25.00/hr
DOE Travel:
Approximately 50% with periodic overnight stays Qualifications checklist 2+ years of valve technician or related mechanical experience in refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or industrial plants Turnaround/shutdown exposure in plant environments strongly preferred Hands-on troubleshooting and industrial equipment repair track record Ability to independently disassemble and rebuild valves Valid driver's license required Ability to pass physical, drug screen, and random testing requirements Strong attention to detail, organized, and safety-focused Self-motivated; able to sustain productivity with minimal supervision Effective communicator with solid customer service skills Basic computer proficiency High School Diploma or GED Preferred experience Machining Welding or fabrication Power generation or petrochemical maintenance background Experience operating/testing pressure relief or control valve systems Technical proficiencies Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills Maintenance and Repair Skills Mechanical Assembly Skills Mechanical Systems & Component Repair Blueprint Reading
