Our in‑house teams partner closely with clients to navigate technical complexity, manage risk, and deliver safe, constructible, and cost‑effective facilities. Position Summary IFG is seeking a licensed Mechanical or Chemical Engineer (PE) with experience supporting industrial or EPC construction projects to join our team in a hands‑on engineering leadership role. This position is ideal for a Professional Engineer who is ready to step into engineering project leadership, working closely with project managers, construction teams, and clients to deliver safe, compliant, and constructible industrial facilities. The Senior Engineer will be accountable for the engineering scope and technical integrity of assigned projects, serving as IFG's technical representative while remaining closely connected to field execution, procurement, and construction realities. This is not a design‑only or tooling role; it is a project‑embedded engineering position within an active EPC environment. Key Responsibilities Engineering Leadership & Execution Plan, execute, and control basic and detailed engineering for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable codes. Select and validate design concepts, technologies, and materials appropriate for industrial, manufacturing, and process‑driven facilities. Lead multi‑discipline engineering teams (mechanical, chemical/process, piping, electrical, instrumentation, architectural and civil/structural as applicable). Ensure engineering deliverables support safe construction, operability, and maintainability. PE Stamp construction documents in your registered field. Scope, Schedule & Budget Management (Engineering) Develop and manage the engineering scope of work, engineering schedule, and staffing plan. Monitor engineering progress and costs; partner with the Project Manager to maintain alignment with overall project objectives. Support change management by evaluating technical impacts of scope changes and assisting with change order development. Client, Vendor & Field Interface Act as IFG's technical point of contact with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Review vendor submittals and technical documentation. Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup. Participate in field reviews and resolve technical issues encountered during construction. Safety, Quality & Compliance Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements. Support hazard reviews, constructability reviews, and quality assurance processes. Promote safety‑in‑design principles throughout the project lifecycle. Talent Development & Collaboration Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers and designers. Assist department leadership with training, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement initiatives.
