Job Description

Assembly Worker Job Description This role focuses on assembling the exterior structure and related components of cargo trailers using hand and power tools. You will work as part of a production team to build, seal, and finish trailer bodies according to specifications, ensuring high-quality workmanship and safe, reliable finished products. Responsibilities Assemble the exterior skin of cargo trailers by gluing panels, applying tape, and securing materials with self-tapping screws. Work on the roofing stage by rolling out roof materials, applying sealant, and ensuring a watertight and durable finish. Complete final assembly stages, including installing and assembling fenders, finishing lighting components, and sanding the floor. Apply caulking and sealant wherever needed to ensure a clean, finished look and protect against leaks. Use a variety of hand tools and power tools, such as saws and drills, safely and efficiently throughout the assembly process. Measure and mark materials accurately using a tape measure and follow specifications to ensure proper fit and alignment. Assist with wiring and basic electrical tasks on the trailers as needed, following schematics and guidelines. Perform general labor tasks related to production, assembly, and installation of truck and trailer equipment. Follow blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to complete assembly tasks to specification. Inspect work for quality, identify issues, and make basic repairs or adjustments during the assembly process. Lift and move materials and components up to 50 lbs as part of daily assembly work. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and production standards. Essential Skills Ability to understand how parts fit and function together. Previous experience using power tools and hand tools in a production, construction, or similar environment. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Comfort working with saws, drills, and other power tools safely and effectively. Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for cutting, fitting, and assembling materials. Basic wiring and electrical experience applicable to trailer or equipment assembly. Ability to follow blueprints, schematics, and written instructions to complete assembly tasks. Reliability, strong work ethic, and ability to work productively as part of a team in a manufacturing setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous carpentry experience, especially in framing or finishing work, is a plus. Prior roofing experience is an advantage for the roofing and sealing stages of trailer assembly. Experience with truck equipment or trailer assembly is beneficial. Familiarity with general repair and installation tasks in a mechanical or production environment. Comfort working in a fast-paced production setting with general labor responsibilities. Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing facility that produces cargo trailers. You will work on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the goal of transitioning to a 4x10 schedule once production is caught up. The environment is hands-on and production-focused, with regular use of hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, and tape measures. Work involves standing, bending, lifting, and moving materials throughout the shift in a shop or factory setting. You will work around mechanical and electrical components, sealants, and construction materials, following safety procedures and wearing appropriate work attire and protective equipment suitable for a manufacturing and assembly environment Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carbondale, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
