Loom Mechanic 1217 W Mill St, Quakertown, PA 18951 From $24 an hour - Full-time From $24 an hour - Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Loom Mechanic to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing loom machinery used in fabric production. Your expertise will ensure that our looms operate efficiently, safely, and with precision, supporting the seamless flow of manufacturing processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical knowledge and technical skills in a dynamic industrial environment, contributing directly to the quality and productivity of our operations. Responsibilities Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all loom equipment to minimize downtime and extend machinery lifespan. Troubleshoot mechanical issues using schematics, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other hand tools. Repair or replace worn or damaged parts utilizing power tools, welding equipment, machining tools, and fabrication techniques. Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions to accurately diagnose problems and implement solutions. Conduct machining operations for custom fabrication or part replacement as needed for loom components. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to transport heavy parts or machinery safely within the facility. Solder electrical connections and perform minor electrical repairs to ensure optimal machine performance. Maintain detailed maintenance logs, repair reports, and inventory records to support operational transparency and compliance. Experience Proven experience working with manufacturing machinery, particularly looms or textile equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in assembly, fabrication, welding, machining, and troubleshooting complex systems. Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and the use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and welding apparatus for maintenance tasks. Warehouse experience including forklift operation is preferred for efficient material handling. Knowledge of safety protocols related to manufacturing environments and machinery operation. Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
