Job Description

The Mechanic I supports maintenance operations by performing mechanical, electrical, and structural repairs. Assists mechanics, electricians, and mobile technicians in maintaining plant machinery, equipment, and facilities to meet production needs in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 7-10 years of mechanical maintenance experience. Expert knowledge of rotating equipment, hydraulics, and mechanical systems. Strong leadership and project management skills. Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience preferred. Welding and machining certifications preferred. High level of safety and quality awareness. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work outdoors in all seasons. Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work from elevated platforms. Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, hammers, and wrenches. Strong problem-solving skills. Lead complex mechanical repairs and equipment overhauls. Diagnose root causes of recurring equipment failures and develop corrective actions. Coordinate with engineering and maintenance planning teams. Provide technical expertise during shutdowns and capital projects. Mentor mechanics across multiple shifts. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Perform additional duties as assigned.
