Full-time Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and mechanical experience to join our maintenance team. The technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of industrial equipment and systems to ensure optimal plant performance, safety, and reliability. This role also supports preventive maintenance, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives while minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance repairs on industrial equipment including motors, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, lasers and plasma cutters Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including 480V 3-phase power and 110V/24V building and control circuitry Perform preventive and predictive maintenance (PM) inspections and tasks to improve reliability and reduce unplanned downtime Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings Install, maintain, and upgrade equipment, drives, sensors, and control systems Perform basic PLC and VFD troubleshooting (programming experience a plus) Assist in equipment installations, line modifications, and plant improvements Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in CMMS Work safely and follow all company safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, crane operation, rigging best practices, and fall protection Collaborate with operations, engineering, and other maintenance personnel to support production goals Track and order spare parts and support inventory management Respond to breakdowns to minimize production downtime
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or associate degree preferred 2+ years of experience with a technical degree or 4+ years of experience without a technical degree Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical and mechanical systems and controls Strong mechanical / electrical aptitude and experience working with industrial machinery Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and automation systems (preferred) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding industrial environment Willingness to work overtime, weekends, call-ins, or off-shifts as needed Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Preferred Skills (Not Required): Experience with CNC machines, lasers, plasma cutters, robotics, and automated systems Welding and fabrication skills Experience in heavy manufacturing or steel/industrial environments Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safe work practices Experience with vibration, thermography, or oil analysis programs
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, climb, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces Ability to work in hot, cold, or noisy environments Ability to work at heights using ladders, platforms, articulated boom lifts and scissor lifts
