Aerotek is seeking general laborers to clear packaging jams within a large distribution company in the Memphis are. 12 hour overnight position. 5pm-5am Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday. You will play a key role in keeping high-volume conveyor systems running safely and efficiently by clearing nets, monitoring for jams, and supporting maintenance activities within a large, modern distribution facility. You will work as part of a small, dedicated team on a structured shift schedule, performing hands-on mechanical tasks, walking the facility to identify and resolve issues, and using tools and equipment to maintain smooth operations. Responsibilities Clear nets on conveyor systems that catch packages to ensure safe and continuous material flow. Conduct regular area walks to identify and remove jams or obstructions on conveyors and surrounding equipment. Perform 5S duties around the work area, including organizing, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and efficient workspace. Work closely with the maintenance team on projects and tasks that support equipment uptime and operational improvements. Operate hand tools and power tools safely to support installation, assembly, repair, and general maintenance activities. Assist with general installation labor, including moderate to heavy tasks such as racking, assembly, and equipment setup. Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading, moving, and positioning items as needed for operations and maintenance. Use scissor lifts to access elevated work areas when required, following all safety procedures. Perform basic troubleshooting on mechanical and general electrical issues within your scope of responsibility and escalate when needed. Operate machines and equipment related to net clearing and material handling as trained. Scan products or materials as required to support operational processes and tracking. Maintain good wire organization and connections when assisting with installations or repairs. Walk up to 3-5 miles per day throughout the facility to complete inspections, respond to issues, and support operational needs. Work at heights when necessary to clear nets, inspect equipment, or support maintenance tasks. Follow all safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and facility policies to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team. Essential Skills Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Ability to perform general labor and moderate to heavy installation work. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to support basic troubleshooting and repairs. Experience with general assembly, installation assembly, and following assembly instructions. Ability to perform material handling tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items. Familiarity with general maintenance and general electrical concepts within an industrial or construction environment. Ability to operate or learn to operate scissor lifts in a safe manner. Comfort working at heights and walking 3-5 miles per day within a large facility. Ability to perform net clearing and support continuous conveyor operations. Capability to operate machines and perform basic machine operation tasks as trained. Ability to perform product scanning and follow established processes accurately. Strong attention to safety, housekeeping, and adherence to 5S principles. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and sustained standing, walking, and manual tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Memphis, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
