Job Description
Job Overview As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and plant equipment. This role supports production by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment uptime and safety. Essential Responsibilities Perform routine, preventive, and predictive maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including motors, conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and automated machinery. Diagnose mechanical problems using technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and diagnostic tools. Install, align, and balance new equipment or machine components as needed. Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure efficient equipment performance. Follow all plant safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental regulations. Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts to enhance reliability and reduce maintenance costs. Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and support planning of maintenance shutdowns or major repairs. Provide technical support for process improvements, equipment modifications, and new installations. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred. At least 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field (manufacturing, processing, or heavy industry). Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics. Familiarity with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs. Welding, fabrication, or machining experience is a plus. Basic PLC troubleshooting skills preferred. Must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond effectively to emergency maintenance situations. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in industrial environments (heat, noise, confined spaces, etc.).
