Job Title:
Installation Helper Job Description The installation helper works as part of an installation crew to assemble and install overhead cranes at customer sites. The role focuses on mechanical assembly, including bolting cranes to railings inside facilities, and supporting service technicians with installation and quality checks. This position involves regular travel, occasional overnight stays, and working at significant heights while following safety procedures and using fall protection. Responsibilities Work as a member of an installation crew to install overhead cranes at client facilities. Perform mechanical assembly of crane components, including bolting cranes to railings and structural supports. Assist a service technician in servicing and maintaining overhead cranes as a trainee helper. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for installation, assembly, and fabrication tasks. Support electrical assembly tasks when needed under guidance, where basic electrical experience is beneficial. Perform general labor duties related to installation, such as material handling, positioning components, and preparing work areas. Conduct basic quality checks on installed overhead cranes to ensure proper assembly and secure connections. Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of fall protection when working at heights up to 50+ feet. Travel to various client locations and remain flexible for occasional overnight stays based on project needs. Communicate and coordinate with crew members to complete installations efficiently and safely. Essential Skills Mechanical skills with experience in mechanical assembly and installation. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools for assembly, installation, and fabrication work. Ability to perform general labor and manual labor tasks in an industrial environment. Comfort working at heights and willingness to work up to 50+ feet in the air using fall protection. Valid driver's license to travel to client sites. Mechanical knowledge related to service technician support and overhead crane installation. Ability to work effectively as part of a crew and follow instructions from a service technician or lead installer. Additional Skills & Qualifications Electrical experience or exposure to electrical assembly is a plus. Experience in a service technician, mechanical, or industrial installation role is beneficial. Familiarity with overhead cranes, industrial equipment, or manufacturing environments is advantageous. Ability to communicate and collaborate in a multilingual environment, including working with Spanish-speaking team members. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
