Electromechanical Industrial Trainer - Rockdale (Part-time)  Location 2600 South First Street Temple, TX Job Type Part-Time (Faculty) Job Number 00521 Division Workforce and Continuing Education Opening Date 04/28/2026 Closing Date Continuous FLSA Non-Exempt Salary Grade Faculty Minimum Requirements Associate's degree (or higher) in a related field OR possession of a Journeyman Electrician License or Master Electrician License. Minimum of three (3) years of related industry experience in electrical or industrial technology fields. Demonstrated expertise in electrical systems and industrial technology, including areas such as: Electricity, Basic Wiring, Safety, Industrial Maintenance. Fundamentals, and Electrical Troubleshooting. Ability to translate hands-on industry experience into effective instruction for high school and/or adult learners. Work Schedule Monday-Thursday (mornings or afternoons) at the Rockdale ISD Career and Technical Center. Hours align with the ISD instructional schedule and program needs. This is an on-site position in Rockdale, TX. All essential duties must be performed in person during scheduled instructional hours. Total hours required per week Monday-Thursday (mornings or afternoons) at the Rockdale ISD Career and Technical Center. Hours align with the ISD instructional schedule and program needs. Position Summary & Essential Duties The following duties and responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's), and physical requirements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Electromechanical Engineering Technology lead industrial trainer, this part-time position provides instruction in Industrial and Electrical Technology courses. The primary teaching assignment includes courses within the Level 1 Certificate in Electrical Assistant (industrial) and/or the Electrical-related courses (residential/light commercial) in the Construction Pathway. This position supports dual credit and workforce-aligned training delivered in partnership with Rockdale ISD and is focused on preparing students for entry-level careers and continued postsecondary education. Qualifications (Required and Preferred) Required Associate's degree (or higher) in a related field OR possession of a Journeyman Electrician License or Master Electrician License. Minimum of three (3) years of related industry experience in electrical or industrial technology fields. Demonstrated expertise in electrical systems and industrial technology, including areas such as: Electricity, Basic Wiring, Safety, Industrial Maintenance. Fundamentals, and Electrical Troubleshooting. Ability to translate hands-on industry experience into effective instruction for high school and/or adult learners. Preferred (A Plus) Prior training experience (secondary, postsecondary, workforce training or apprentices) Experience working with dual credit or Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., NCCER, OSHA, or related electrical credentials). Job Duties and Responsibilities The incumbent will: Teach courses at the Rockdale ISD Career and Technical Center. Deliver instruction aligned with Temple College curriculum, dual credit standards, and workforce expectations. Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and hands-on lab activities that support student learning outcomes. Maintain a safe and effective learning environment, particularly in lab-based settings. Evaluate and assess student performance in accordance with established guidelines. Maintain accurate student records and submit required reports promptly. Collaborate with Rockdale ISD staff and Temple College Workforce Development leadership. Assist in maintaining lab equipment and instructional materials. Participate in relevant professional development and program meetings as needed. Promote program awareness and assist with student recruitment and retention efforts. Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal policies and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities & Physical Demands
KNOWLEDGE
Understanding of electrical systems, industrial safety practices, and workforce training environments. Familiarity with community college and Career and Technical Education (CTE) mission and structure. Knowledge of FERPA guidelines.
SKILLS:
Strong instructional and hands-on training skills. Effective communication and classroom management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems (preferred).
ABILITIES
Ability to adapt instruction to diverse student populations, including high school students. Ability to manage time effectively within a part-time teaching schedule. Ability to maintain a safe, organized, and engaging lab environment. Ability to work collaboratively with ISD and college partners. Physical Effort & Working Conditions Regular standing, walking, and demonstration of hands-on skills. Occasional lifting of equipment up to 30 pounds. Work performed in classroom and technical lab environments. May require limited local travel. Work Schedule Monday-Thursday (mornings or afternoons) at the Rockdale ISD Career and Technical Center. Hours align with the ISD instructional schedule and program needs. This is an on-site position in Rockdale, TX. All essential duties must be performed in person during scheduled instructional hours.
