Salt Lake City, UT Job Details Full-time 18 hours ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off 401(k) matching Retirement plan Qualifications Bachelor of Science Laboratory experience Full Job Description Position Summary Storagenergy Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, fabrication, integration, and testing of advanced energy-system prototypes and associated manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will work on device architecture, mechanical packaging, fixtures, test systems, sealing approaches, and prototype manufacturing. This is a hands-on position suited to an engineer who enjoys translating early-stage concepts into functional hardware. Key Responsibilities Develop mechanical designs for prototype devices, components, housings, fixtures, and test systems. Prepare three-dimensional CAD models, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and assembly instructions. Design prototype tooling, alignment fixtures, assembly equipment, and laboratory test hardware. Evaluate mechanical integrity, dimensional tolerance, thermal behavior, sealing, and packaging reliability. Perform design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly assessments. Support machining, additive manufacturing, laser cutting, molding, and prototype fabrication. Conduct mechanical, thermal, environmental, and reliability testing. Troubleshoot assembly, packaging, leakage, deformation, and hardware-integration issues. Support equipment installation, process automation, and manufacturing scale-up. Maintain design records and contribute to technical reports, reviews, and project documentation. Qualifications B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. At least 2 years of relevant engineering experience preferred. Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, or equivalent. Experience designing prototype hardware, fixtures, enclosures, seals, or manufacturing equipment. Hands-on experience with machining, additive manufacturing, assembly, or laboratory testing is preferred. Familiarity with thermal analysis, structural analysis, tolerance analysis, or finite-element analysis is desirable. Experience with batteries, fuel cells, electrochemical devices, aerospace systems, or electronics packaging is a plus. Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.
