Job Description

About Us VMek is a leader in inspection and counting systems, delivering innovative automation solutions to the packaging and agricultural industries. As an OEM of high-speed optical color sorters and advanced inspection equipment, we design and build precision industrial machines powered by machine vision, motion control, and robust mechanical systems. We are seeking a detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our production team. This role is focused on precision mechanical assembly and wire harness fabrication for complex industrial equipment. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in clean wiring and organized builds, and wants to grow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Mechanical Assembly Assemble industrial machines using hand and power tools Install mechanical components, subassemblies, and structural frames Follow assembly drawings, manuals, and work instructions Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail Wire & Harness Fabrication Build and assemble wire harnesses and custom cable assemblies Cut, strip, crimp, label, and terminate wires to specification Route and secure wiring cleanly and professionally within machine frames Read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics Ensure proper labeling, bundling, and documentation of wiring assemblies Electrical Component Installation Install sensors, motors, drives, and electrical components Support panel wiring and electrical subassembly work Ensure organized routing and secure mounting of electrical components Production & Team Expectations Work efficiently to meet production deadlines Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors Identify and report assembly issues or discrepancies Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Willingness to work overtime as required by production schedules Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, or similar technical environment Strong mechanical aptitude Experience building wire harnesses or working with electrical wiring Proficient with hand tools used in machine assembly Ability to read and understand technical drawings and wiring diagrams Good written and verbal communication skills Preferred Experience assembling industrial machinery or automation equipment Experience with crimping tools, wire labeling systems, and cable management best practices Strong organizational and time management skills High energy and willingness to learn and grow within the company
Pay:
$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
