Build, Repair, and Keep Production Running Looking for a hands-on maintenance role where your skills make a real impact? Join Quad's Chemical Research & Technology (CR/T) team in Hartford, where we manufacture the inks and resins used in our printing operations across the country. This is a stable, day-shift position offering a variety of mechanical challenges, modern industrial equipment, and opportunities to grow your technical skills. Unlike a traditional production facility, you'll work in a specialized manufacturing environment where maintenance is valued as a critical part of the operation. About the Role Join a specialized team at Quad's CR/T facility, where we manufacture the resins and inks that power our printing operations nationwide. As a Maintenance Mechanic , you'll play a key role in keeping our chemical processing equipment running safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic industrial environment—not a traditional print shop. What You'll Do Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment and processing systems Work on pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, augers, pneumatic systems, and other industrial equipment Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve reliability and reduce downtime Install new equipment and support facility improvement projects Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and technical drawings Partner with operations teams to keep production running safely and efficiently Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety standards What We're Looking For Associate's degree in a related field or 5+ years of mechanical experience. Experience rebuilding rotary vane pumps. Strong skills in pipe fitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and blueprint reading. Familiarity with metric measurements and mechanical tolerances. Basic understanding of electrical theory and safety protocols. Ability to work at heights and operate high-lift equipment. Must have or be willing to acquire basic hand tools. Physical ability to lift to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive hand/wrist movements. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
