SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION

Assists the Maintenance Department in keeping the buildings and grounds clean and healthy according to safety standards.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in the interior and exterior janitorial needs, building maintenance, and ground keeping assignments. Assists in moving furniture, equipment, or fixtures as required. Assists in the repair or replacement of doors, windows, walls, flooring, and other wooden structure. Assists in the repair or replacement of plumbing, electrical wiring, heating, air condition systems, lights, control switches, and other electrical items. Assists with the planting, pruning, fertilizing, and transplanting of flowers, shrubs, trees, and bushes etc.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES

Knowledge of methods, tools, materials and equipment used in grounds and maintenance work. Knowledge of methods and techniques of mowing, edging, pruning and trimming. Ability to properly use of cleaning products and equipment Capable of following verbal and written instructions Ability to read and understand labels and directions Proficient in the use of computer software such as MSWord, Excel and Outlook, etc.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High school graduate or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

One year of custodial experience

OTHER:

Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
