"Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. The reporting location is Ed Z'berg Sugar Pine Point state Park. This position will work under the general direction and supervision of the District Senior Environmental Scientist. he candidate will perform tasks related to trail work and maintenance. Including, but not limited to carpentry, stone masonry, tread maintenance, brushing, and basic construction. This is a district position and may be assigned to work in other park units. Spike schedule and camping may be required for certain projects within the district. This is a uniformed position, and the successful candidates will be required to purchase and wear a State Parks uniform. The incumbent's work schedule will be from 8:00 am to 4 pm five days per week. This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible. The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment. Possession of a valid driver's license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.) State housing may be required.
Special Requirement/Condition of Employment:
Depending on the assigned location, the incumbent may be required to occupy state-owned housing to meet operational needs or may be offered state-owned housing if available.
