Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance and mechanical knowledge, with the ability to perform various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our residential properties. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Responsibilities Facilities Care and Maintenance Help maintain the church buildings and grounds to keep them clean, safe, and in good working order. Assist with regular inspections and upkeep of systems like HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. Follow safety guidelines and ensure all work meets required standards. Teamwork and Support Work with the facilities team to complete assigned tasks. Communicate clearly with the team leader and other staff to make sure work is completed on time and to a high standard. Be dependable and take pride in your work. Project Assistance Support repair and renovation projects by helping with tasks such as setting up equipment, moving supplies, or working alongside contractors. Follow the task list in Asana and update progress when needed. Daily Operations Take care of everyday maintenance needs like small repairs, groundskeeping, cleaning support, and helping set up and tear down for events. Keep tools and supplies organized and report any equipment issues. Supplies and Inventory Help keep track of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies. Let the team lead know when items need to be restocked or replaced. Look for ways to reduce waste and care for resources responsibly. Requirements Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various systems effectively. Skills in welding and fabrication are highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills Previous supervisory experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership capabilities. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Able to learn task management tools (like Asana) and use email to stay updated on schedules. Basic computer skills helpful (such as checking schedules or submitting maintenance reports).
