Job Description
First Review of Applications on May 8, 2026 Under close supervision, ensures a safe and clean environment by performing park and facility maintenance. Clears and cleans structures, sidewalks and facilities of damages and liabilities and verifies areas are in clean and safe working conditions. Conducts landscaping and grooming of athletic fields and turf areas, bicycle and pedestrian oasis locations, trails, Town Hall Campus, and other areas as assigned. Implements safety procedures and guidelines for park maintenance. Irrigates the grounds and parks, operates equipment, and prepares the areas for public activities. Performs park and facility maintenance on Town of Oro Valley assets. Picks up and empties trash at park locations and performs custodial duties.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to clean and maintain park grounds, park equipment and facilities. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written communication. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety guidelines. Knowledge of park maintenance and beautification methods. Knowledge of Town and Department policies and procedures. Skill in irrigation installation and repair. Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines and follow up on work assignments with minimal supervision. A high school diploma or GED. One (1) year experience in commercial landscape maintenance or custodial operations. Must possess a valid Class D Arizona driver license upon the first day of employment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Work is performed in an outdoor environment. Must be able to lift or move up to (50) pounds.
