Job Description SUMMARY:
Performs all appointed maintenance work as requested by supervisor. Assists in maintaining the sage and secure operation of the facility. This includes, but is not limited to, basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, grounds maintenance and janitorial functions.
LOCATION
: Bakersfield, California
EMPLOYMENT STATUS
Full-Time HOURS:
40 hours per week. Dates to be determined. DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance:
1. Takes direction and follows through with all tasks assigned by the Supervising party. 2. Keeps accurate records; prepares correspondence, progress notes, written reports, and other documentation. 3. Assesses, evaluates, and develops methods to use and enhance strengths and to isolate and minimize weaknesses. 4. Maintains established performance and conduct standards in accordance with organizational expectations and follows all Federal and State OSHA safety regulations. 5. Perform facility maintenance as required (including electrical, carpentry, landscaping, and janitorial duties as directed), so the facility operation is not adversely affected. 6. Follows all security protocols for tools and equipment so that clients do not have unauthorized access, and the safety and security of the facility is maintained. 7. Follow all maintenance safety procedures and precautions and ensure compliance with established safety regulations to minimize client and staff accidents. 8. Respond to assigned facility maintenance work requests in a timely manner so that the facility safety and cleanliness is maintained at the highest levels. 9. Report to supervisor and log any irregular or unusual event regarding the maintenance of the facility. 10. Run errands to pick up necessary supplies for maintenance as needed to ensure supplies are on hand to assure the smooth operation of the facility. Ensuring all safety measures are taken while traveling for work related tasks (no cell phone use and obey all traffic and safety laws) 11. Communicate with staff and clients in a professional manner to affirm and enhance self-esteem and dignity, present self as a positive role model and maintain a positive client, staff relationship. 12. Participate in staff meetings and training as required by the Supervisor. Share observations and recommendations regarding the clients and the facility, to identify and solve problems, and function as part of a unified team. 13. Complete any in-service training to meet the requirements set forth in the State and Local regulations regarding employees in a group home setting. 14. Maintain confidentiality obtained through job duties, regarding clients, other staff, vendors and outside agencies.
Janitorial:
(as assigned) 1. Clean offices, remove dust, mop, vacuum, clean bathrooms, sinks, toilets, restock cleaning supplies, remove trash, facilitate trash disposal at sites, take out trash and replace trash. 2. Remove dust, dirt and cobwebs 3. clean windows and light fixtures 4. Deep clean once a month
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical requirements described herein are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions as required by the position. Must be able to sit, stand for long periods of time, and perform twists, turns, pushes, heavy lifting, and hand manipulations, grasping, holding and working in heat and cold, outdoors and indoors. Must be able to climb ladders, drive tractors and light trucks as well as loading and un-loading heavy loads, work safely with a variety of hand and power tools, etc. Work various shifts as required. Must be able to work with others, perform independent problem solving and adjust to frequent change. Be able to handle exposure to emotions, crisis intervention with clients, frequent interruptions and meet deadlines. Must be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
EDUCATION
Must possess the physical and emotional qualities that enable the employee to carry out the duties outlined in the job description. Reading, writing and math skills equivalent to those normally obtained through a high school education.
