Custodian / Maintenance Worker - Facilities

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform routine custodial duties at assigned Tribal locations; maintain assigned buildings and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly and secure condition. Perform routine custodial duties at assigned Tribal locations; sweep, scrub, mop, strip, wax and polish floors; vacuum rugs and carpets in offices, hallways and other assigned work areas; spot clean and shampoo carpets. Clean offices, lounges, kitchens, hallways, conference rooms and other facilities as assigned; dust and polish furniture and woodwork; empty waste receptacles; spot mop spills; remove debris as needed. Clean and disinfect drinking fountains and restroom facilities including sinks, toilets and urinals; fill dispensers with towels, soap, toilet paper and other items; clean mirrors, tile, walls, light fixtures and windows; unclog drains and toilets. Pick up paper and other debris from grounds, walkways and areas adjacent to tribal facilities; sweep concrete surfaces adjacent to tribal buildings. Perform a variety of routine general maintenance and repairs to buildings, fixtures, walls, floors, equipment and furniture as assigned; replace screws, light bulbs and tubes; refer major maintenance and repair needs to appropriate personnel. Move and arrange furniture and equipment as required; set-up and assemble chairs, tables and other furniture and equipment for meetings and other events; clean up furniture, equipment and debris following these events. Perform routine grounds maintenance and gardening duties in the beautification of assigned grounds and landscaped areas as required; mow, edge, trim, and water lawns, fields and other turf grounds; cultivate, prune and irrigate flowers, trees, grass and shrubs; hoe and pull weeds and rake leaves. Operate custodial and grounds maintenance equipment such as vacuums, mops, small hand and power tools, buffer/scrubber machines, blowers, tractors, mowers, edgers and other equipment as assigned; drive a vehicle to conduct work. Install drywall and paint. Repairs/adjust doors, locks, closures, etc. Roof Cleaning and Roof Drain Maintenance. One to two year of related experience or training in the custodial arts and grounds maintenance preferred Valid CA Driver's License and be insurable on the company vehicle insurance policy Ability to lift/push up to 50 lbs and stand up to 8 hrs. Availability to work flexible hours High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
