Burrtec continues to grow through company acquisitions and successful bid proposals. It is a family-owned company that firmly believes the key element to its success is knowing how important each employee is in the organization. We are seeking to fill an Equipment Maintenance Helper position for the Burbank Recycling/Material Recovery Facility location.
Position Summary:
Perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of Material Recovery Facility equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Follow safe work practices and adhere to all safety rules and practices. Assist and support Equipment Maintenance team and activities. Perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of Material Recovery Facility equipment, including balers, conveyors, screens, magnets, etc. Perform repair and maintenance of facility building and grounds Use hand tools and other equipment for the performance of these activities Use a welder, torch, and grinder in the performance of their job Work in support of the Equipment Maintenance team and independently on smaller jobs/tasks Timely and accurately document work performed on Fleetmate work orders Perform other repairs and duties as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Good interpersonal skills Good mechanical and electrical skills Good verbal and written communication skills. Good judgment skills. Good organizational and cleanliness skills to ensure a safe and organized work area. Use hand tools, portable power tools, and other equipment as needed.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of previous equipment maintenance and repair experience required Vocational school and/or training in equipment maintenance and repair preferred Previous experience in the use of hand and small power tools/equipment.
PHYSICAL
Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for long periods of time. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
