Maintenance Worker I (7:00am-3:30pm) at Burlingame School District Print Application Deadline 5/18/2026 11:55 PM Pacific Date Posted 5/11/2026 Contact Jennifer Baker Number of Openings 1 Salary Pay Range $27.98 - $39.75 Per Hour Length of Work Year 12 months Employment Type Full Time Job Summary Job Summary Performs unskilled and semiskilled maintenance, repair and construction work in the various maintenance trades; assists in the construction, installation and maintenance of roofs, furniture, fences, playground equipment, cabinets, shelving, chalkboards and bulletin boards; assist in the installation, repair and maintenance of gas and water lines; repairs faucets; assists in the installation of some equipment and minor repair and maintenance of electrical and plumbing equipment; repairs and replaces floor and ceiling tile; assists in the maintenance and repair of heating, ventilating and cooling systems; assists in the repair of door hardware; prepares surfaces, mixes paints and finishes a variety of equipment, furniture, and physical structures; loads, unloads and drives maintenance service vehicles; operates filters and pumps and uses hand tools. QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Common tools, materials and equipment used in the general maintenance trades; Basic methods and techniques used in maintenance and construction work; Safe working methods and procedures.Ability to:
Appropriately use tools and equipment common to the maintenance trades; Read and interpret working drawings and blueprints; Prepare simple reports and records; Perform heavy manual activities; Understand and carry out oral and written directions; Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.Experience:
Six months of experience as an unskilled and semiskilled worker in one or more of the basic maintenance trades.Education:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by training or course work in one of the basic maintenance trades.License:
Possession of a valid CA Motor Vehicle Operator's License and insurability by the District's liability insurance carrier. Clean Driving record required.Requirements / Qualifications
