Non-Exempt The Multi-Trades Maintenance Professional will be responsible for property maintenance, light construction, and facility upgrades. This role will seamlessly transition between minor carpentry, basic plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and surface finishing, and will work independently to perform high-quality repairs, diagnose issues, and ensure FPU properties remain safe, functional, and visually appealing. Essential Functions Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair varied building issues spanning multiple trades efficiently. Execute property upkeep by performing preventative maintenance tasks to minimize large-scale breakdowns. Source materials and estimate required parts, tools, and materials for assigned projects. Ensure safety through strict adherence to building codes, safety regulations, PPE guidelines, and operate a variety of hand and power tools, vehicles, and equipment safely. Maintain documentation by tracking completed work orders and log materials used daily. Daily tasks will be dynamic and may include, but are not limited to, installing doors, replacing window trim, building light partitions, repairing outdoor decking and fencing, patching drywall holes, replacing damaged drywall sheets, taping, mudding, texture matching, and painting, replacing faulty faucets, clearing clogged drains, installing new sinks, or repairing minor pipe leaks, changing light fixtures, replacing wall switches or outlets, changing ballast transformers, replacing damaged floor tiles, installing vinyl plank flooring, re-grouting wet areas, assembling commercial or residential furniture, mounting shelving, and hanging cabinetry. Qualifications Qualifications:
5 or more years of hands-on experience in property maintenance, handyman services, or general contracting. Strong working knowledge of basic residential or commercial building systems. Ability to assess a problem and determine the most efficient, durable solution. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work comfortably in tight spaces Strong customer service skills to interact positively with students, building occupants, and other employees Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team. Ability to utilize a computer-based work order system, navigate online training, email, timecard, and other FPU systems with minimal supervision. Possess a valid
California Driver's License Environmental Conditions:
Both indoor and outdoor work environments subject to varying weather conditions Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions. This position is based on the main campus of Fresno Pacific University but may be required to drive personal or University vehicles between campuses and University residential areas to appointments. Public contact position requiring professional apparel, personal hygiene, and grooming.
Physical Demands:
Repetitive and physically demanding; frequent bending, lifting, sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching, stooping, grasping, and working at heights and/ or confined spaces. Walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods. The position may involve travel. Moderate-to-heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds). Employee must be able to communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and in-person communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents. University Information $45,780 to $61,630 is the annual starting salary for this role and reflects what Fresno Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
