Future salary increase 3% - effective July 4, 2026 The Fullerton's Public Works Department is searching for a skilled Streets Lead Worker that is experienced in maintenance, repair, construction of city streets to include pavement reconstruction, and asphalt paving/repair. What You'll Be Doing:

Direct and participate in street maintenance, repair, construction and asphalt patching/repair. Lead and train a crew to ensure safety and proper use of specialized equipment. Direct and assist in traffic control, hazardous waste disposal, and general construction projects.

Experience in asphalt paving, concrete, and general street construction. Takes ownership of the work. Someone who knows streets.

Education and Experience:

Any combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, is considered qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications is: Graduation from high school. AND Three years of responsible experience as a Senior Maintenance Worker or in a similar position performing streets or related projects/facilities work.

Special Requirements:

Valid class "A" Driver's License and acceptable driving record at time of appointment and throughout employment in this series. Employees in this classification will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles Government Employer Pull Notice Program. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate City needs. California Government Code §3100 - 3109 requires that all public employees are to be declared disaster service workers and shall take and subscribe to the related oath or affirmation as required.
