Full Job Description Building Maintenance Worker Department:

Monday-Friday Hourly Pay:
$23.00-25.00 Position Summary The Building Maintenance Worker performs a variety of semi-skilled and unskilled tasks pertaining to the maintenance and repair of buildings, related facilities, and facility equipment. May work independently, as part of a maintenance crew, or as an assistant to a skilled tradesman. Duties include but are not limited to installing and moving furniture, making repairs to office furniture and equipment, clearing stoppages in sinks and toilets, doing preparatory work for painting projects including washing walls, filling in or smoothing surfaces, masking areas, replacing door closers, locks, latches, hinges, and other building hardware, operating, and maintaining a variety of power and hand tools of the various trades. Key Responsibilities Installing and moving furniture, making repairs to office furniture and equipment Clearing stoppages in sinks and toilets Preparatory work for painting projects including washing walls, fillinginor smoothing surfaces, masking areas Replacing door closers, locks, latches, hinges, and other building hardware Operatingandmaintaininga variety of power and hand tools of the various trades Assistwith housekeeping duties. Request supplies,maintaininventory, and control stock for assigned areas. Safeguard keys that are issued for assigned areas. Effectively interact with diverse groups of people. Installing,maintaining, and repairing interior and exterior lighting systems including transformers and ballast used in fluorescent lighting. Repairing free-standing light fixtures. Installing,maintaining, and repairing wall switches, and receptacles. Utilizing electrical multi-meter and amp probe. Sizepipes, including piping materials and types. Demonstrate understandingand becompliant with Patients' Rights, LPS Statutes, and Seclusion and Restraint Protocols. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalentrequired. Experience in a behavioral health, healthcare, or hospital setting (role-specific equivalent acceptable) preferred Ability to trouble shoot mechanical problems and make necessary adjustments or repairs. Knowledge and ability to use hand tools and utilize equipment common to the building maintenance trade. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across disciplines and departments. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. Current CPR, BLS, and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within90 daysof employment Preferred Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a behavioral health, healthcare, or related human-services setting (role-specific equivalent acceptable) Proficiencywith Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams) and/or cloud-based communication platforms (e.g., Slack, Zoom) Bilingual in English and Spanish, or other languages commonly spoken by the patient population Crisis prevention/intervention training (e.g., HWC, CPI, PMAB) or de-escalation certification Knowledge of HIPAA, Title 22, and other applicable regulatory standards Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for qualifying employees 401(k) retirement savings plan Supportive, team-oriented work environment Physical & Environmental Requirements Frequent walking, standing, sitting, twisting, and bending arerequired. Ability to safelyassistwith the physical management, lifting, or repositioning offurniture. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able tooperatestandard office and/or clinical equipment requiring repetitive hand movements, manual dexterity, and fine finger coordination, including the use of computers, telephones, and related devices. Special Conditions Employment is contingent upon successful completion of Live Scan fingerprinting, background check clearance, and verification of required licenses, certifications, and education Satisfactory completion of professional reference checks Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Ocean View does not provide visa sponsorship for certain roles unless otherwise specified Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), The Joint Commission, and HIPAA standards Compliance with all required health screenings and immunizationsin accordance withregulatory guidelines and facility policy, which may include tuberculosis (TB) testing, N95 fit testing, annual trainings, and proof of vaccination for certain communicable diseases Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or variable shifts as needed, based on operational or patient care needs
