Job Description

Under general supervision, performs duties associated with reserved-use and basic maintenance of City facilities including community center buildings, athletic courts, and indoor and outdoor recreational amenities; assists in set-up and breakdown of events at facilities; learns policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties; performs other related duties as required. The Facility Aid is a part-time, at-will, entry level class performing semi-skilled tasks and duties in support of the City of Madera's community parks and recreation areas. The duties include, but are not limited to, facility rental oversight with renter interaction, light maintenance of facilities, janitorial activities, special event setup and tear down, maintenance of aquatics facility, and other similar duties as assigned. Position may work early mornings, evenings, daytime, and weekends to support the public's use of City facilities. Facility Aides must be dependable and timely in reporting to work in support of scheduled events. High school diploma or equivalent Must demonstrate a basic understanding of janitorial and maintenance work through paid work experience, volunteer experience, or life experience. Valid Class C California Drivers License is required Only the most qualified applicants will be considered. Qualifications are determined based on submission of an Employment Application. The City Manager, upon recommendation of the department head, will make the final selection and appointment for this part time, at-will position.
