The Part-Time Laborer in Parks & Community Services performs routine grounds and facility maintenance under close supervision. Key duties include cleaning restrooms and park areas, preparing athletic fields, operating small tools and equipment, picking up litter, emptying trash, securing facilities, and assisting with the setup of recreation programs. This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and may include weekend or holiday shifts. It offers hands-on experience in park maintenance and community services support.JOB DESCRIPTION

The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and comfortable performing outdoor physical labor. They follow instructions well, work independently, and provide friendly customer service to park visitors and program participants. The strongest candidates will have previous experience performing similar groundskeeping, landscaping, or facility maintenance work, along with preferred skills such as operating small power tools, using lawn and landscape equipment, and applying safe cleaning practices. This position is not project-based and is not eligible for retired annuitants.MINIMUM AND DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS A
typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above is graduation from high school or G.E.D equivalent; prior experience in landscaping or landscape maintenance work is preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
