Job Description

Maintenance Technician Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for helping maintain the community in a safe, clean, functional, and attractive condition for residents, staff, and visitors. This position performs routine maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility support services while providing excellent customer service in a senior living and healthcare environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repair work throughout the community, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general facility repairs. Respond promptly to maintenance requests submitted by residents, staff, and management through the maintenance reporting system. Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and employees. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and report repair needs or safety concerns to management. Maintain grounds, common areas, resident rooms, and equipment in good working condition. Assist with room turns, furniture moves, equipment setup, and community events as needed. Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when assigned. Follow all safety procedures, infection control practices, and company policies. Participate in emergency response procedures and after-hours maintenance support as assigned. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and supply records. Perform other duties as assigned to support community operations. Minimum Qualifications Two (2) years of maintenance, facilities, building services, or related experience preferred. Basic knowledge of building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems. Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public. Strong customer service and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks. Compassion for and commitment to serving seniors in a healthcare/community living environment. Must be at least 18 years of age. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and lift throughout the workday. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and conditions.
