SENIOR PARK AIDE

"Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program)." The reporting location is San Diego Coast District Office located at 4477 Pacific Hwy, San Diego, Ca 92110. This position will work under the direction of the Administrative Supervisor. The Senior Park Aide, on a temporary or seasonal basis only, will perform routine front desk operations, and a variety of administrative duties. Customer service and computer skills are necessary. This position will work 4-5 days per week. The Senior Park Aide (Seasonal) will be the District's front office administrative support. This includes opening and closing procedures, processing incoming and outgoing mail, selling department park passes, explaining park policies and regulations to the visiting public and service and maintain office equipment and supplies. This position will be working with various departments within our District, such as Accounting and Human Resources, assisting our Management Service Technicians and Analysts in filing, data entry and creating labels and files as needed. This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. This position is designated as not telework eligible. The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment. Possession of a valid driver's license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.) Cleaning includes toilets, urinals, lavatories, sinks, ceilings, walls, floors, drains, and doors. Also picks up litter, empties trash cans, sweeps walkways and inside buildings, washes windows; removes graffiti; vacuums carpeting and floor surfaces; dusts inside buildings; changes lights; removes refuse to prepare or maintain State property; reports needed repairs and hazards to Lead person or Supervisor; assists with special event projects; rakes, shovels, removes brush, waters shrubs and trees, cuts lawns, hoes brush; loads and unloads boxes; washes garbage cans and works on garbage pickup crew. Inspects, cleans and maintains light vehicles including trucks, electric carts, Gators, lawn mowers and equipment. Complete and fills out forms, including supply requisitions and Time Reports, as needed in performance of duties. The purchase and wearing of a State Park uniform is required and State Park grooming standards must be met. This position may work up to 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months. They will also act as a lead in the absence of the PMA. This position can work 189 days in a 12 consecutive month period or a maximum of 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months per California Code of Regulation 265.1 .
