This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. Applications from a certification list, transfer change in class, reinstatement, re-employment, and training and development assignment candidates will be accepted for this position but consistent with the MOU/Bargaining Agreement BU12/13 contract cannot be acted upon unless the Post & Bid process does not result in a hire. The reporting location for this position is El Capitan State Beach maintenance shop in Goleta, CA. This position will work under the direction of Park Maintenance Supervisor. Duties for this position include the skilled maintenance and repair of park facilities including roads, showers, sewer, irrigation and electrical systems, day to day leadership of seasonal employees, housekeeping, and purchasing. The incumbent will track and complete daily work orders and may be required to enter the data into Maximo, the state wide facility maintenance tracking system. Training and Development Assignments may be considered. Possession of a valid Class C driver's license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver's license on your application. The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment. The incumbent's work schedule will be Wednesday through Sunday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Per California Code of Regulations (CCR) 599.961, this is a sensitive position, and therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing. It should be noted that testing is not mandatory, but is allowed to be conducted only if and when there is a determination of reasonable suspicion as defined in
CCR 599.962.
