The Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Director in maintaining the community in good repair at all times, including both the interior and exterior surfaces, fixtures and mechanical systems. Maintain all interior fixtures in good repair including walls, woodwork, handrails, nurse call systems, light fixtures, furniture, etc., in accordance with established procedures Maintain plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems according to established procedures, manufacturer's instructions and county, state, and federal laws and regulations, as applicable. Troubleshoot failures in plumbing, electrical, heating, air conditioning or appropriate ventilation systems and obtain the services of appropriate licensed service firms, under direction from the Maintenance Director Respond promptly to emergency repair requests Keep the exterior of the building in good repair, including: Maintain workshop and mechanical room in a neat and clean condition and free from hazards. Ensure that paints and other flammable materials are properly stored.Qualifications:
Minimum of six (6) months experience in a skilled nursing facility or related healthcare setting required High school diploma or equivalent required Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and facility-related issues Familiarity with safety regulations and infection control practices Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong attention to detail and time management skills Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks Good communication skills and ability to interact with staff and residents Physical ability to lift, carry, bend, and perform routine maintenance tasksWhat We Offer:
